lawn service, is a comprehensive and customized program designed to create
a green, healthy and beautiful landscape around your home or office building. Our evironmentally
responsible approach, focuses on the targeted use of material to manage
weeds, disease and insects in your landscape.
Our approach also offers environmental benefits such as improving air quality, water quality, energy consumption, noise pollution and property value. Therefore, the lawn program does not include the routine broadcast application of pesticides.
The lawn care program is a comprehensive and customized agronomic program that includes:
- Soil Testing
- Soils may look the same, but each landscape has individual characteristics of soil pH, texture and fertility. Your technician will test your soil for pH to determine the best nutritional program for your landscape and to anticipate future needs.
- Customized Nutritional
Programs
- Not all lawn grasses or landscape plants need the same type and amounts of nutrition. Your nutritional program is adjusted to the specific characteristics and needs of your individual landscape.
- Weed Control and Prevention
- Better Home & Lawn focuses on creating a thick healthy lawn that effectively crowds out weeds. In cases where weeds do develop, we selectively remove them through targeted treatments, correcting cultural habits that promote weed development in the first place.

- Each landscape has different environmental conditions that can support a wide variety of both beneficial and problematic insects. Your technicians are trained to understand the dynamics that balance nature's own natural defenses against the pressures of insects. - Brown Patch Reduction Program: Brown patch will appear as circular patches of dead or yellowing blades which can be easily pulled from the runners. This fungus will appear in the same areas every year. The fungal spores will become active as temperatures drop and there is excessive irrigation or rainfall. Damage normally remains until the following spring.
It’s near impossible to find new sod not infected with Brown Patch. The soil-borne fungus is not treated on the sod farms due to the cost and since the damage is only aesthetic.
Better Home & Lawn offers a Brown Patch Reduction Program for customers that have an annual problem with this disease. The program consists of 1 to 3 monthly treatments beginning in September. The cost per treatment is listed under Beneficial Services on your analysis form.
